      About the Book

      Edit

The Deatherage/Gibbs house is locally significant for architecture as an example of a Pioneer Log two story dwelling. As with most pioneer log buildings, the house is located in a mountainous region, the Pike National Forest, and is characteristic of dwellings of early settlers in the region who were often engaged in timber and ranch endeavors.
