      From martial arts to contemporary abstract art Olympic Judo bronze medallist is turning his hands to gentler skills and making moves in the world of contemporary abstract art. Born and raised in Salford, Manchester UK. Neil Eckersley was Britain’s leading extra-lightweight Judo player for a decade, winning his bronze at the Los Angeles games of 1984. Neil is taking a firm grip on the art world with a stunning portfolio of new works being showcased all over the world. Neil has had exhibitions in Manchester, Norway, Paris, Hong Kong, Budapest, Baku and Tokyo. Recently Neil has had the honour of being included in the artist in residence for IOC Beijing, Winter Olympics. This latest project "The chaos of a manufactured WAR" is a collaboration with the amazing illustrator Anita Chamberlain. The poem and illustrations are attempt as artists to highlight and try to come to terms with the psychological effects of WAR..
