Looking back over the paintings collected here, my work, both visual and written, obviously was inspired by my association with Philip Trussell in the 1980's. His introduction of the concepts of glyphonics inspired many painters, poets and intellectuals from my generation in Austin, Texas and it is with much admiration and gratitude that I dedicate this book to him. ~ Richard Bodien
