      About the Book

      Edit

Growing up, I remember being told that my great grandmother, Sarah Ellen Roe’s family had been in America since “the beginning”. An old Family Bible suggested it might be true. But how to know for sure? The short answer is time. Hours, days, weeks, months, years searching through ancient documents uncovered a paper trail back in time from the Roe’s Michigan homestead purchased in 1837, through Pennsylvania and New York to the earliest days of British colonial settlement in Connecticut and Massachussetts. Documents such as mortgages and land deeds, show indeed, that our family did sail to America during what is called The Great Migration. This book shows you how we know it’s true. Learn about ancestors, and pass this book on to your kids and grandkids so that they too can trace their Puritan Roots back to New England in the early 1600s.
