This is the story of a family battling their healthcare system for over a year in order to make the wife's final days as pain and anxiety free as possible. While it focuses on a particular family, it is not a unique experience and exposes the need for much change in the way our society looks after its elderly.
This is a must read for those who, like the author, had not put sufficient thought into planning for old age. It is also a love story of a couple who, after over 50 years of marriage refused to be parted by the system.
