About the Book
In the quiet moments of the night, when my dreams become vivid and thoughts crystallize, I often find myself wandering through nature's landscapes of Waynesville. These dreams are not mere flights of fancy but rather a profound exploration of the shared relationship we share with the environment. Every rustling leaf, every flowing stream, and every bird's song becomes a metaphor for the challenges and triumphs that define our collective journey.
Waynesville, with its lush parks and rejuvenated riverbanks, now stands as a microcosm of what can be achieved when we align our efforts with the rhythms of nature. The once-polluted Thyme River, now a pristine artery of life, symbolizes the possibility of nature's renewal. It whispers tales of perseverance, reminding us that even the most damaged ecosystems can recover when given the care and respect they deserve.
The Mill River flood plains, transformed from a site of tragedy to a haven of biodiversity, reflect our capacity to learn from past mistakes. The scars left by the flood are not merely wounds but lessons etched into the very fabric of the landscape as we learn to live side by side with nature. They tell us a story of a community that refused to be defeated by nature's fury, choosing instead to rebuild with a renewed sense of purpose and respect for the environment.

About the Creator
I am an Australian citizen who now resides with my wife in the great State of Ohio U.S.A. following our retirement I have an interest in writing verse as well as poetry and in my spare time, I enjoy the peaceful surroundings of my woodwork shop where I create turned items on the lathe and enjoy the creative arts of that special piece of timber. In the vast expanse of my retired life, I find myself immersed in dream time - a realm where the burdens of my professional life have gracefully faded, leaving behind only the memories of accomplishments and camaraderie gained. As the sun rises each morning these days, I wake with a smile, for the word "work" no longer carries the same definition or weight of obligation but instead whispers the promises of pleasure and purpose. In this newfound chapter, I am free to savor life's simple delights - the warmth of the morning sun on my face, the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze, and the sweet melody of bird songs that grace my ears.
