Eight Houses explores the displacement experienced growing up in the Bay Area. For the author, the hardships endured as a child shaped the way they understand what it means to be from a place you love that does not love you back.
This book is chaptered by one of the eight houses the author lived in. By taking the viewer through cities including Oakland, Hayward, San Pablo, and Alameda, the author is able to show the true essence of culture and beauty that make up the Bay Area.
