About the Book
The apartment on Mills Street was our first home in the United States. A small, hidden-away back house with access to a range of fruit trees, it was our calm refuge in times of tremendous personal change and growth and during those turbulent and unstable years of the pandemic. These are photographs taken in the quiet moments: meditations on its play of light and shadow, on its angles and lines, on its shapes and shades; and in a way it's also a quiet love letter to simpler days.

About the Creator
Marcus Voller
San Francisco Bay Area
Marcus is a black and white photographer whose poetic-leaning work is best perceived in book form. He is interested in how a sequence of images can create its own narrative space, offering enough clarity to guide the viewer while leaving room for personal interpretation. His photographs often cross into the mysterious: subtle gestures, charged stillness, and moments that feel slightly veiled without becoming obscure.
