    About the Book

    Gianrico Battaglia
    Messina, ME, Italia

Gianrico was born in Vittoria, in south-eastern Sicily. He discovered photography as a teenager, first turning his lens toward the streets, façades and hidden geometries of his hometown. Over time, photography became something more than a passion: a way to remember, to understand, and to give shape to what might otherwise be lost. His life and work have taken him across Italy — from Milan to Bari, Naples and Messina — and beyond its borders, to places such as Afghanistan, Tanzania and Kenya. These journeys, marked by distance, encounter and silence, have deeply influenced his way of seeing. Now based in Messina, Sicily, Gianrico continues to use photography as a form of testimony: not only to show where he has been, but to preserve what those places have left inside him.
