What happens when you combine a single picture, a fedora, an AI image generator, and an overactive imagination?

Apparently, you get Tales From the Prompt.

What started as a simple experiment quickly spiraled into a sprawling collection of imagined worlds filled with starships, pulp heroes, fantasy adventures, giant cat monsters, questionable fashion choices, and more pop-culture references than any responsible adult should probably admit to understanding.

But beneath the chaos is a story about imagination—and about the people and pets who inspire it. Tales From the Prompt follows one family as they wander through an ever-expanding universe of AI-generated artwork, where familiar faces can become heroes, ordinary moments can turn into adventures, and absolutely nothing is safe from a ridiculous prompt.

It’s part science fiction, part fantasy, part pop-culture fever dream, and part family scrapbook. Most importantly, it’s a celebration of having fun with creativity and seeing where a little imagination can take you.

Originally envisioned as a simple present for my wife, it quickly grew into something I think others can enjoy as well. Presented in both English and Japanese—for my wife’s benefit.
