Growing up in downtown Manhattan, I attended P.S. 234 in the 1990s. Looking back, its teaching philosophy was much like a Montessori classroom. We rarely sat at desks, seldom copied notes from the board, and instead spent much of our time collaborating, asking questions, and sharing ideas. That experience taught me to think creatively and approach problems from different perspectives.
