About the Book
The journey reaches into ancient Egypt, religious traditions, cathedral building, and alchemical thought before returning to the everyday responsibilities of a Mason. Along the way, Sterling examines brotherhood, the search for light, the building of character, and the difference between being busy and doing work that matters. The beehive becomes a way to consider how individual effort contributes to a shared purpose, both within the lodge and beyond it.
Written in a candid, conversational voice, this book welcomes Freemasons and readers curious about symbolism and its place in everyday life. Sterling leaves room for readers to draw their own conclusions while encouraging them to look more closely at what they may have taken for granted. At its heart is a question that reaches well beyond Freemasonry: what will each person contribute to the world that continues after them?

About the Creator
I am originally from Modesto, California, and relocated with my family to Purcell, Oklahoma, in April 2021. My wife, Chenoa, and I are proud parents of three sons, Cody, Aaron, and Clayton, ages 28, 26, and 24, and we were blessed with our first granddaughter, who was born in November of last year. Family is the foundation of my life, and we enjoy traveling whenever possible, camping, and spending time on the lake in our boat during the warmer months. Our home is also shared with five dogs: a Boerboel (African Mastiff), two Boxers, a Boston Terrier, and a Miniature Dachshund. I became a Freemason in July 2024 and have embraced the opportunities for personal growth, fellowship, and service that Freemasonry provides. Since then, I have become a 32° Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner. I am a member of three Blue Lodges, with Purcell Lodge serving as my home lodge.
