      About the Book

      Edit

Other than a bit of background and biography, there is no text in this book. Only 150 pages of highly interpretative photographs taken over a period of about a year and a half. You can just see the variety, feel the texture, glory in the color and the history, and be amazed at the cultural and historical variety. It's as much about culture as about architecture or scenery. All taken by a photographer with fifty years of experience...yours to enjoy and to pass around to friends, colleagues, and those looking for a new place and a new art to discover.

I have over 50 years experience as both a commercial and fine-art photographer. I’ve also written 27 published technical books on computer graphics. These include the best selling first and second editions of The Digital Photography Bible (Wiley) and Digital Photography: Expert Techniques (O’Reilly Media). I have done editorial photography for TV Guide and The Los Angeles Times, advertising campaigns for American President Lines, Strega Liquers, the Fluer Corporation, and publicity photos for Capital Records and Universal Pictures. As a fine art photographer, I have exhibited my work at art festivals, galleries, and cafes. I did the photography, composite work, and digital painting for two posters (1998 and 2005) for the Sausalito Art Festival (the nation’s most profitable) and both years won the coveted Sunshine Artist Magazine award for Poster of the Year.
