About the Book
A story in pictures - a poetic view of the world as seen by the artist during her extensive travels.
Dutch artist Jolijn Boxhoorn calls this collection of photographs a ‘story in pictures’. The protagonist in the narrative is the artist, and the images give us a glimpse of her inspiration across more than a decade of her travels. The subjects take us around the world – from Dublin to Petra, from Kyoto to Cairns, and from Henley to the Andes. If the locations are familiar, the views are not, demonstrating Jolijn’s capacity to interpret the world around her in fresh and unexpected ways. There is an almost unsettling quality to pictures that are at once familiar and strange; as if dreamt.
