About the Creator
Born in Warsaw, Poland Ania Gilmore received her BFA with honors in Graphic Design from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, studied printmaking, book art and fibers at RISD, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine. Gilmore worked as an independent curator in the US and internationally. She exhibited in Gallery Nori in Jeju Island, Korea; Hangaram Art Museum, Bojagi Forum, Chojun Textile & Quilt Art Museum in Seoul, Korea; From Lausanne to Beijing International Fiber Art Biennale at the Tsinghua University Art Museum in Beijing, China; New Bedford Art Museum, MA; and Fuller Craft Museum in Brocton, MA. Her work was featured in Art New England, Woodstock, Fiber Art Now, Artscope, The Collection of Polish Book Art from the 20th to the 21st Century (Japan), Artistry in Fiber: Wearable Art (A. Lee, A. Rooney), 1,000 Artists’ Books: Exploring the Book as Art (P., D. Thomas), and The Creators of the Image of Polonia (Poland).
