About the Book
Black and white photographs from the islands La Palma and El Hierro (Canarian Islands), mainly taken with a 8x10" large format field camera.



Since 1991 I have travelled many times to La Palma and I grew fond of the island and its inhabitants. In addition I undertook three shorter visits to the smaller but nevertheless charming "sister" El Hierro.



In this book the photographic impressions of the years 1991 through 1996 are documented, supplemented by some pictures from 2007 and 2009.

As a former scientist in physics I worked in aeronautical industries until my retirement. Photography in black and white has been one of my main interests since many years. From 1990 through 2007 I worked with large format field cameras up to 8x10". In 2009 I closed down my darkroom and turned over to digital camera technique.
