About the Book
I think in these pictures their influence can be seen.
In composing the book the distinction I made regards only the subjects. In the "street " section these are mainly unknown persons while in "indoor" the subjects are mainly friends or relatives.
I hope you enjoy this selection of my black & white work.
I was born in Italy in Sacile, Friuli Venezia Giulia in 1954 in cold January night during a snowstorm and that was the origin of my name. I began to uproot myself right from the start, spending the youth and adolescence between Civitavecchia, Assisi, London and Turin. I currently live and work in Caneva. In 1978, finished studies, I collected the money to buy my first camera (a Canon FTb) and begin to photograph constantly. Also in 1978 I began experimenting with ancient photographic techniques focusing mainly on kallitypes (platinum, palladium, gold and selenium) cultivating in the meantime the need to master the history of photography collecting and restoring XIXth century cameras and albumins. I photograph what I see that captures me, because I find it beautiful, or fascinating or simply odd. From the beginning, my surroundings had been my primary subject. Over time, friends and unknown people have also found their way in front of my lens.
