About the Book
17 travelers gathered to journey on Vedic Odyssey’s spiritual adventure in the Himalayas of Nepal and North India in October of 2010. The 16-day journey saw us travel from ancient cities to Himalayan mountain villages to sub-tropical jungles and immerse ourselves in deep study of Hinduism and meditation.
This is a humble attempt to capture the grand spiritual adventure we had, and the friendships, love and spiritual companionships that were created in what was an ineffable inner and outer adventure for each of us.
Hindu priest and meditation teacher, Dandapani is of Sri Lankan descent. Raised in Australia, he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering after which he chose to live as a monk. He followed his guru, Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, to Kauai’s Hindu Monastery in Hawaii. In 1999 he was initiated as a monk by his Satguru. For the next 10 years he lived as a monk and studied a wide variety of Hindu teachings that focused on meditation, yoga and worship of God as keys to unfolding his own and others’ deepest potential through both personal effort and openness to divine grace. Dandapani currently lives in New York City. He travels frequently, sharing the teachings of his guru in workshops, retreats and spiritual adventures. He is also passionate about photography and you can follow his "Travel Photography Blog on Yoga, Meditation and Hinduism" at www.VedicOdyssey.com/spiritualadventures
