About the Book
This is a new kind of park.
“Peace Parks” are lands crossing borders where the two sides of the border are in conflict. They are emerging in Africa and Asia, perhaps because many new nations have been made in these two continents in the 20th century. New nations spend much of their first century of life settling borders. New borders are fungible. A Peace Park is a new landscape now emerging, made by war, and mired in politics. Its emergence creates an area where people, with agendas beyond those of war, can meet and work together.
