      About the Ebook

"571 Projects: The First Three Years" documents the exhibitions held at this jewel box contemporary art gallery in the heart of New York City's Chelsea. From the launch in 2009 until 2012, 571 Projects was a part of the vital creative 'Cold Castle' building at the corner of 551 West 21st Street, where it promoted emerging and mid-career artists working across all media, primarily through solo exhibitions.

Exhibited artists: Lindsey Brown, Leah Durner, Sandra Elkind, Liz Engelhardt, Brian Fekete, Sally Gil, Jan Gilbert, Melora Griffis, Tatiana Istomina, Jimmie James, Dorothy Simpson Krause, Malcolm Moran, Noah Landfield, Laurel Lueders, Nathan Schiel, and Julie Tremblay.

      Founded by Sophie Bréchu-West.

      571 Projects
      New York City, NY

571 Projects seeks to bridge the gap between dynamic emerging & mid-career artists and engaged collectors, both those beginning to collect and those looking for fresh talent. To support the work of significant artists, we provide a forum through tightly curated, solo exhibitions that showcase a single body of work. Currently 571 Projects is a nomadic curatorial project with art advisory services, born at Chelsea's last creative community, Cold Castle formerly on the corner of West 21st Street and 11th Avenue in the heart of New York City's Chelsea. Founded by Sophie Bréchu-West, an alumna of Christie’s Master’s in Contemporary Art and Connoisseurship program, 571 Projects opened its doors in October 2009. She brings over 10 years’ experience working in the international gallery world between Boston, London and New York City. With 571 Projects, Bréchu-West gives her love and enthusiasm for contemporary art and artists a platform.
