In TROPHIES the woman’s head is hung on the wall like a hunting trophy. She becomes the tableau itself, the object hooked. The ideal woman is restrained and inoffensive. She is trapped by her appearance, victim of female stereotypes. I chose to exaggerate this cliché, with gaudy lipstick and excessive hairstyle.

My photos question the place of woman and its representation in contemporary society, the diktat of appearance, the cliché about feminity and masculinity.
Through the figure of the body, Ievoke the quest for identity, the emancipation of individuals and their struggle to preserve their individuality in a standardized world.
With humor and gravity, using the power of the image, I attempt to evoke the inner turmoil which inhabits the body whether feminine or masculin, both vulnerable and powerful.

Mes séries questionnent le corps et les représentations de l’identité féminine. Le corps de la femme est trituré, déformé, suspendu. Les clichés de la féminité sont exacerbés.
Dans TROPHEES, la femme est trophée sur un mur.
Elle devient elle même le tableau, l’objet accroché.
Elle est prisonnière de son image, victime des clichés sur la féminité.
La femme idéale est figée, hors d'état de nuire.
Cependant sur certaines images on peut sentir une résistance, un dérapage imminent.
On y trouve la fascination pour la beauté, beauté inaccessible que l’on capture etrend inoffensive, mais aussi la fascination pour la mort, car un trophée sous son apparence paisible et mystique, évoque également la violence et la mort.
Je questionne ma propre féminité et mon identité de femme dans la société.
Il s’agit aussi de l’obsession de l’artiste à exposer son travail au mur, obsession qui peut le conduire à sa perte, «y laisser sa peau».
