In 1989, Keith Haring painted an erotic mural entitled “Once Upon a Time” in the second floor men’s room of New York City’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center (The Center). Completed just months before he died of AIDS, this mural is perhaps Haring’s most personal and resonant expression of sexual jouissance, and is the only Haring mural of its kind. This book highlights photography of the mural from Travis Dubreuil, a well-known commercial photographer based in New York City. All proceeds benefit The Center.
