About the Book
Melanie Metz and Peggy Willenberg are not only explorers at heart, but are also scientists and teachers. They have been advocates in helping others learn about the weather, teaching Skywarn classes, severe weather safety and the science of severe weather to a variety of groups around the country.
The Twister Sisters love to share their passion with others through education and photography. They began taking people on storm chasing tours in 2004 and continue taking people out to this day. In 2007/2008 the intimate details of their chasing trips were the subject of a television series on WE TV "Twister Sisters".
Over the years, the Twister Sisters have been honored to be involved with a variety of research projects and documentaries. They have presented their own case studies of tornadic systems at national conferences and have been involved with a couple of National Geographic Television documentaries. They also worked as chasers for FOX-9 News in the Minneapolis area and have been seen on The Weather Channel, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, and Anderson Cooper 360.

I am currently enjoying life as a photographer in Minneapolis with my amazing husband, David, and my two crazy Dachshunds, Max and Stormy. My passion for photography has been in my soul since day 1. I now have over 12 years of professional experience, including owning and operating a studio and framing shop. I am blessed to have become known internationally for photo documentary work I've done as one of the Twister Sisters with my close friend Peggy Willenberg. My severe weather photography has been widely published, including Cosmopolitan and Outside Magazine. I am honored to have video footage broadcast on National Geographic Television, NBC and FOX. In 2008 Peggy and I were featured on a reality show series, "The Twister Sisters", on WE TV. We also had the amazing experience to be on Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I believe life is about following your passion, sharing love, and enjoying the amazing adventure of each day.
