This collection represents Peter Paul Barbara’s rediscovered affinity for these centuries-old trees. It represents an intimate bond with nature and specifically with these trees, both on a deep personal and artistic level.
Barbara trusts that these images transmit the same sense of enduring serenity felt each time he visits Buskett, with the Aristotelian belief that living organisms have different kinds of souls, and that such souls are the substance of life. Buskett is locally designated as a special area of conservation - a highly delicate and fragile area, rich in biodiversity and different types of habitats. Nevertheless, as far as Barbara can remember, there have been changes, for the better and worse.Throughout this collection Peter Paul Barbara brings out the best in these trees, and we are indebted for it.
