About the Book
Because she simply didn't have enough to keep herself busy, the artist decided to collect her favorite pieces from that first year. She spent time studying them, added notes of hindsight, and penned an essay outlining the project's evolution and her artistic growth.
This volume is the first published (at least two more to come). It covers the time frame of October 2006 through December 2007, and includes over 100 color plates representing more than half the daily paintings from this time frame.
Artist Kimberly Kelly Santini typically focuses her creativity on painting and cooking and art journaling and teaching and dancing badly in front of her easel. She is best known for her acclaimed daily painting commitment "Painting a Dog a Day," which ran from 2007 - 2015, featuring a new pet portrait or finished painting on a daily basis. Santini also was the 2015 Kentucky Derby artist, creating the imagery that will forever on be connected with American Pharoah's historic triple crown win. Her work is eagerly collected around the world, while she continues to paint daily and teach. More information can be found at www.KimberlySantini.com
