    About the Book

    Edit

Rekero Camp is set inside the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, very close to the confluence of the Mara and Talek River. The Camp is set up seasonally (June - October & December – March). Gerard and Rainee Beaton along with partner Jackson Ole Looseyia own and host this Unique Camp. Their team of professional Maasai guides and Camp crew have worked together for years providing an in depth and truly memorable Maasai Mara experience. Wildlife viewing can be done on foot with experienced Il Dorobo and Maasai Guides, or in custom-built four wheel drive vehicles which allow intimate yet unobtrusive access to the wildlife.

Gerard and Jackson grew up close to each other as their fathers were the founders of Rekero in 1987 the Beaton family has been in Kenya since 1889, their love and respect for the Countries Peoples and Wildlife has always been at the for front of their explorations. Jackson grew up in the traditional Maasai way of life, but thrived in learning not only about his own country and people but also all those that came to see Kenya. Over time as Gerard and Jackson become more and more involved with Rekero they took it on and now are the two co owners for Rekero. Rainee Beaton also a child of Kenya and through her experience of Africa has become a fantastic Artist, Painting the Wildlife, Landscapes and People of Kenya. With their two sons, Charlie and Sam, and a well travelled and knowledgeable Jackson, Rekero is being taken to the forefront of Kenyan Safaris.
