About the Book
This is the first in a series of books of the unique art of Paul Jeffrey Davids, a Princeton University graduate who became a noted Hollywood writer/director/producer. One of his films from Universal ("Starry Night," about Vincent van Gogh) is sold at the Museum of Modern Art Gift Store in New York. In addition to his many movies and books, he has spent a lifetime creating paintings, pastels and pen-and-ink drawings that have been seen in many exhibitions (including a major show at the Ritz-Carlton). Here you will discover New York and Paris as the artist feels and experiences those cities, with whimsy, humor and affection. His works show a lust for life, optimism, a sense of irony and an eye for the inspiring, colorful beauty in famous urban settings. The contents span decades from his college years to the recent present, showing artistic development, evolving styles and mastery of technique.
