About the Book
John S. Stewart.
The original photographs, made on film, show familiar Springfield locations, but not always from familiar vantage points. The cover art shows one of the domed terracotta turrets of the Shrine Mosque from a rooftop across the street. Other images in the book show landmarks that are now gone such as the Frisco Railroad depot and the Colonial Hotel.
