      About the Book

      Edit

Step back in time almost 200 years and join the families that settled this part of Decatur, GA, just after the Trail of Tears. Read forward and learn how folks lived less than 80 years after the War Between the States. Forward to the 1950's and 1960's and remember Belvedere Shopping Center, one of the first "malls" ever, or Misty Waters, a great swimming hole. Read the stories of children who lived at The Methodist Children's Home here, or the tales of Old Time Cops. This is merely a sampling of what you will experience in 440 pages and over 330 photographs of "Paradise in Olde Decatur."

His book describes old time farm life and hardships, but also covers a multitude of other subjects. Folks that have read his book say they absolutely could not put it down. In fact, some had to order an additional copy because someone else picked it up and had the same response!
