About the Book
The inspiration for this book came from Lynn Plourde’s At One in a Place Called Maine, a celebration of the author’s home state. Guilford Central School 6th graders liked the idea of creating a book, similar to Plourde’s, about their own small town in southeastern Vermont. Students created watercolor collages to illustrate the unique environmental and cultural features of Guilford, and wrote poetic words to go along with them. We hope you enjoy reading At One in a Place Called Guilford, a collaborative effort of the best kind - one that brings together students and their communities.
