About the Book
There are no mathematics to the spiritual life. Subtract all you want; surrender your possessions to the poor, and wear only the most moth-ridden clothes, and your petite penance will not earn you badges of heavenly faith. I thought that my burning anger at my sin would enhance my standing before a holy God, but found only echoing solitude in my self-righteous indignation.
And there is no instruction manual on life, guiding our precise movements as we piece together our days.
This is not a self-help book.
It is a collection of thoughts, reflections, and poems gathered over the past five years and presented as both art and devotional. Ernest Hemingway said, "There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed."
This is my blood.
These are my collected thoughts and poems on loneliness, intimacy, God, pornography, and a handful of other thoughts about spiritual living in today's generation.
