About the Book
When we designated "Connections" as the MIRA Mobile Prize 2016 theme, we expected multiple and assorted entries. However, the 6000 photographs that were submitted in the competition exceeded all of our expectations. The artists assembled physical, social, emotional, sympathetic and intimate connections.They summoned symbolic objects, animals, people, generations, territories, forms, ideas and events. Many sought memories, individual and collective, to better understand a disturbing present.
