When he got the opportunity to show his work biweekly on the cultural website Drentwatchers, the idea arose to look for regional artists, or makers with roots in Drenthe. Artists with a story.

The result is a portrait series of 26 works with a conscious layering: the location and environment in which Lahuis portrays his subjects tell a deeper story, about origin, character or about art itself. About makers who do not make concessions.
