      About the Book

      Edit

Slice is based on the 1955 20th Anniversary Annual of U.S. Camera, edited by Edward Steichen. Cropped details of the photographs were selected and juxtaposed by the artist in original sequence along with excerpts of captions and texts as a means of reviewing and representing the state of photography in that decade. The accompanying essay by the artist discusses the conceptual and theoretical issues of the project. This work was exhibited in 2002 at the Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography in Toronto. This publication makes the work once again accessible.
