About the Creator
Steven Ujifusa specializes in telling stories of American business leadership, both as an acclaimed popular historian for Simon & Schuster and as a writer of “works for hire” for public and private companies. In 2012, The Wall Street Journal named his first book A Man and His Ship: America's Greatest Naval Architect and His Quest to Build the SS United States (Simon & Schuster) as one of the 10 best nonfiction books of the year. He is nearing completion of his second book for Simon & Schuster, tentatively titled Full Sail, on the great 19th century American clipper ships and the merchant dynasties they created. The focus of the story is the Delano family, clipper ship merchants and the maternal ancestors of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. For this project, he was the recipient of a 7-week writing fellowship from the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire. The book is scheduled for release in the summer of 2018.
