About the Book
Black Magic Witches' Picnic is an artistic collaboration between Iowa City artists Dawn Frary and JoAnn LS. The photographs in this series conjure an occult, New Wave, and romantic aesthetic, merging themes of childhood, adulthood, life, death, our reality and the unseen world which may exist alongside it. Inspired by goth subculture, all things occult in nature, autumn, and the innocence of youth, Black Magic Witches' Picnic spins a dark tale reminiscent of 1980s album art, Siouxsie Sioux, haute couture runway fashions, and the movie “The Lost Boys.” **All profits from the sale of this publication will be donated to Planned Parenthood and United for Puerto Rico.**
