For nearly 60 years only 90 miles off the coast of the United States, Cuba has been isolated from many Americans. Cuba: My World Ends Here is a photographic essay by internationally award-winning photojournalist John Partipilo and is an inside look into this mysterious country and the everyday life of the Cuban people.
John Partipilo is an international award-winning photojournalist and fine art photographer. Working as a photojournalist for 40 years, Partipilo has won numerous awards including National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) Best of Photojournalism for his essay on gangs in Tennessee. He is also a two-time Pulitzer nominee. His photography has been featured in national and international publications including The New York Times, Time Life, and Newsweek among others; on books; and on album covers. Since Partipilo was a child, he always dreamed of traveling the world with his camera using photography to tell people's stories. Partipilo loves photojournalism, because it is so powerful. It connects people and places together in meaningful ways beyond the expected. At the heart of Partipilo’s work is people—people in different environments and people in their different stages of life. To him people are so important, because their image evokes emotion that connect us to the human spirit.
