About the Book
Harrison's photographs inspire stewardship of our natural heritage, and promote protection and restoration of ecological integrity for this and future generations
Growing up in the mountains of Western North Carolina sparked Jim’s interest in landscapes and nature. His interest in photography began during Jr. High, when he wrote a science/English paper on how an SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera works. His images find beauty in the ordinary. They also inspire stewardship of our dwindling natural heritage, and promote protection and restoration of ecological integrity for this and future generations. Professionally, he was an environmental scientist focusing on water quality and its watershed influences for over 30 years. Jim is a past President of the Atlanta Photographic Society, was the club’s Color Photographer of the Year for 2015 and won the club's Presentation Medal for 2017. He also received the club's “Master Photographer” distinction during 2018.
