About the Creator
Michael H.N. Rand was born in Leadville, Colorado in 1976. He received his Bachelors from University of Michigan in art history with minors in fine arts and material engineering. While working on his Masters of Arts by Research in Ceramics at Southern Cross University in Lismore, NSW, Australia he solo adventured by motorcycle across the entire Australia continent. He is in multiple museum collections in the United States for photography and is published in numerous books and magazines. In addition, Michael works in sculptural ceramics and has shown internationally. The motorcycles of his choose for adventuring across the lesser traveled roads is a BMW R1150GS. He has ridden 200,000 miles in the last 9 years covering not just Australia but all the northern most roads in Alaska and Canada plus most of the lower 48 states. In 2008 he was a semi-finalist for the BMW Motorrad GS Trophy and continues to train for off road riding pushing the limits of a 600lb motorcycle.
