About the Book
Phillip Mellor was born in Leeds in the United Kingdom in 1982, and is the author of several collections of poetry including STILL GROWING (2007), BONES AND BROKEN HEARTS (2011), SEASONS OF DISTRACTION (2012), and OTHER SILENT DAYS (2016). His poems have appeared in various literary publications both in the UK and the US. A proud Yorkshireman, he moved from his native country to Seattle, USA in 2018 to live with his wife, American Artist Heather (Carr) Mellor. Although Phillip's poetry touches on various themes, it is the human condition that is at the center of his work. "Primarily when I write I am always asking myself questions related to what it means to be alive, and what connects us. When you stop to think, the human race throughout history has always asked those kinds of questions, in science, in art; it is just a tradition I continue to explore," he says. "It has always been my hope that by sharing my innermost thoughts and feelings, others too might know they are not alone.
