These photographs are the result of several seasons of photography in various locations in the Northeast. The snowy background lights the birds evenly and beautifully and highlights both the delicate details of the birds and their incredible ability to survive in harsh and barren landscapes. In many of the photos there is a little movement, or an expressive posture that shows the character of the bird, making the images not so much about identification as about showing respect for their character and their remarkable resilience.
