About the Book
An ecological story about coral reef resilience and recovery, underlining the importance of herbivores and apex predators in maintaining a coral reef ecosystem's delicate balance and ability to recover after a large-scale disturbance.
Christina Maas is an artist, self-published author and ecologist. She grew up in Newburyport, Massachusetts, USA where she fell in love with the ocean. Frequent trips to the Cayman Islands as a child deepened her fascination with the sea, in particular coral reef ecosystems. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from James Cook University, Townsville, Queensland, Australia and a Master of Science in International Studies in Tropical Aquatic Ecology from the University of Bremen, Bremen, Germany. Christina now resides in Niedersachsen, Germany with her husband and three children where she enjoys writing and illustrating ecologically focused children's stories and painting.
