About the Book
Subjects appear both paralyzed by anxiety and animated by desire as they bond in celebration. We see them drinking and dancing and aching for love in a time of prevailing gentrification and invading technology while bathed in the artificial light that glows in tandem with their deft glorious irony. This absurd nocturnal existence fuels the engines of true human passion, joy and intimacy for those brave enough to dive into the colorfully illuminated darkness.
Timothy Murray is a commercial and editorial photographer/director with Midwestern roots now based Brooklyn. He likes to aim his camera at the heart of life by shooting regular people experiencing raw emotions in available light. This personal work coupled with his technical skills allow him to breathe genuine magic into his commercial endeavors ranging from action sports to celebrity portraiture. When this SCAD gradutate (1997) doesn’t have a camera in his hand, you can find him on the basketball court, making beats and bass lines, hustling victims at foosball or performing a stunning karaoke rendition of David Bowie.
