About the Book
Springfield, an historic neighborhood in Jacksonville, Florida is featured in all its complexity by the author and photographer, a long-time resident. With over 140 pages of photographs and text, issues of race, socio-economic standing, and gentrification are raised. Springfield, much beloved by its residents, is depicted with a quirky, keen eye with rich detail and humor. Somehow, we learn as much about America and ourselves as we do this early 20th century neighborhood.
