About the Ebook
Tom White is a University of Florida biologist currently residing in deep south Florida. On May 5th, 2007, he left alone on a trip to the Republic of Panama in order to see for himself if that country might not be a good place for him and his wife Linda and various dogs and cats to retire. Were the people friendly? Was there infrastructure? Would anyone understand his newly acquired Spanish? And what about all those stories about Latin America? Myth or reality? Tom starts writing about his observations and, in the end, finds it difficult to stop. Over 30,000 words of text and over 400 color photos.

Tom White is a University of Florida biologist currently residing in deep south Florida. He and his wife, Linda, consider themslves to be "Biophiles" (people who love living organisms and need to have them around). They live on a five acre tract surrounded by tropical trees and other plants and own a "rare" plant nursery with a lot of pets - even an alligator for a couple of years. They are considering retiring in the mountains of Panama, where biophiles would be very happy. They also dabble in graphic arts and ceramics. Tom sometimes writes books.
