Robert Cooper is a photographer and journalist living in upstate New York with 15 years of experience. Born in Lansing, Mi., he moved to Hartford, Ct. where he got his start in photography before moving to the capital region of New York. His photography fluidly encompasses portraits, fashion, concerts, and events. His photography has been published along with his writings in the Hartford Advocate, New African Woman a magazine out of England, The Alt weekly alternative paper in New York’s capital region, Essence magazine, and Black Hair Magazine. He has had his photos exhibited in shows in Hartford, Ct., Manchester, Ct., Springfield, Ma., Troy, NY and Waterford, NY. Recently he started a YouTube series called “The Gallery,” which focuses on photography as an art form and he was part of the curation team that brought the exhibit “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: 50 Years of Hip-Hop,” to the Albany Center Gallery.
