About

William Marvel, a native Hoosier, has led a life of service to the youth, farmers and citizens of Indiana. Bill was raised in small farming towns in northern Indiana, and following his WW II Army service, graduated from Purdue. His career was highlighted by 32 years with Indiana Farm Bureau, capped by a decade as Legislative Director, during which time he helped get legislation passed benefitting Indiana farmers for generations. Bill firmly believed in community and the political process. When asked to serve his state, he always found the time. Along with service, marriage and family were the cornerstones of Bill’s life. He made memories with his family and friends, as they camped throughout Indiana and the US. He enjoyed exploring our great country, and even visited all 50 states, taking particular interest in touring the state capitol buildings. Beginning at age 85, Bill recorded his life experiences to share with future generations in The Life and Times of William Frederick Marvel.
