Ex British soldier, having served 23yrs.

After my Armed Forces career I became a commercial security advisor to Western media teams and other international actors in hostile environments such as Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan and the West Bank and Gaza. It made great sense to use the terrific skills that the military gave me to keep others safe.

Between my time in the military and my time in commercial security I have spent a total of almost 40 years in conflict areas around the world.

I am also the author of The Sunday Times Top Ten Bestseller "The Circuit". I now have the best job of all...homemaker.

I've always used photography as a means of seeing the people and places for their beauty. However, in hostile environments if done quickly and accurately, the camera can be a great tool in conflict resolution/management. More than once, the lens has got me and my clients out of a sticky situation.
