About

In recent months I have collected and photographed what might be called the remnants of spring, the stuff on the ground that we mostly overlook. Within the details of this subject matter, I discovered a simple beauty that deserves to be recorded. For me, photography is about expectation. It is about the unnoticed being noticed.
In this work I feel like a sculptor working in stone. In each image, I find certain inherent elements of design that become part of the overall composition. Each frame reveals its own texture, color and line. Centering on these basic elements allows me to understand how they function and enables me to translate them into abstractions.
