About

My work explores a narrative through the contrast of materiality. It takes on a sort-of absurd construction of dialogue. It addresses the traditional, often figurative and romantic notions of beauty as separate materials. These ideas exchange with and elevate the quotidian in my work. This conversation creates a drama between the everydayness of contemporary objects with the aura of historical painting. It stages the easy indifference of the present propped up by the glory of the past. This contrariety is where my work finds it’s legs. It's funny to me. The space between store bought tennis balls, concrete, duct tape and a really sensual oil painting is what I am currently interested in.
